Caprice Story
Caprice is one of the celebrated models of Chevrolet company that for the first time it borned to the world in the year 1965. This car had the best and highest accessories of a compeleted great car that presented in those years. Chevrolet also has presented some other products same BISCAYNE , BELAIR , IMPALA and etc...
The CAPRICE CLASSIC has made in four chapters;
CHAPTER ONE
Car's birth year 1965,
In the year of 1965 america was in trouble of the Vietnam's War and everyday world heard a news of that. Canada had designed their current country flag in that year , Anyway in the middle of the year a different model of Impala with so many changes got designed and entered that was probably an answer of messing with the LTD's model car of the FORD company.
The sells manager of Chevrolet company when seen a big restaurant in Newyork named CAPRICE though he found a great name for this new company product so finally used this name for this new Chevrolet's baby.
A nice car with harder springs ,soft and nice vinyly chair skins , with leather under roof skins, also a perfect dash board , that finally the car had a really strong and nice looking. After a Year in 1966 the company had made the coupe's caprice but not like the Impala SS , this car had no fast back roof and absoluty with a classic easy BOX shaped roof. So in that year the caprice wagon designed also with woods style shapes that was the first woody model after the year 1954 of the chevrolet's company. Caprice engine was a V8 engine motor , 4 speeds , automatic gearbox , hydrolic controller and so white around radial tires. Most of caprices were with a 396 m³ inches engine , and electrical windows and chairs ,fans, and so the cruise control system. In 1969 the caprice got a really better properties for the car for exams fixing the sharpness corners, big metal strong frontal guard and so hidden frontal lights. In that year also Mr. Armstrong for the first time walked on the moon and also the concord airplane was flied.
CHAPTER TWO
A new caprice in the year 1971 with a longer height looking that was difference with the other caprices of before that year, a new design like the Cadillacs of those years and the company sold many other models of that same caprice sedan , caprice coupe and so caprice station wagon. All of them caprice engines were 350 V8 ( 454 m³ inches ) . In year 1972 caprice also had a few changes on it same two shockers on the frontal guard and so some changes about the rear lights. The price of the caprice sedan in those years was about 4009-4076 bocks in united states and so the company sold 178455 cars of the model.
After years in 1976 the caprice was not honestly beautiful such older models and this heavy 2180 kilos car with the 5,6 meters height got named to the monster of benzener.
CHAPTER THREE
From the year 1977 caprice's designers performed a new model with an smaller cabin and height and so an smaller engine V6 also and even they used II 6 engine for some models, yes a 305 engine motor ( 267 – 350 m³ inches engines ) that stayed on caprices till year 1990 ,course means the last year of the caprice brougham models. But the 350's engine already deleted from from the caprice from the year 1979 and never used the caprice anymore just except on police cars only used.
After years in 1986 the caprice mostly performed on so many other changes with the modern accessories and presented but anyway CAPRICE BROUGHAM seriously was a honor for the Chevrolet and caprices family ,specially caprice brougham LS that really was with a different perfect looks with the vinyly roof that so many people still has and loves it.
CHAPTER FOUR
The year 1991 the caprice said a goodbye to that lovable classical models and had made a really complete changes of the car's design from the BOX shape looking to an iro dynamic EGG shape looking ,but the people actually needed more time for getting tired from the earlier models of caprices and interested for loving this new model of caprice and mostly they felt missing the earlier caprice models ( before the year 1991 caprices) . So after two years in 1993 company tried for using some changes on this car same hiding half of the rear wheels and a little tuned motor.
So conclusions after 31 several years producting this car in year 1996 chevrolet stoped making caprice classic and this memorial nice car got tired. Today so many people still has their caprices and really loves them.
